Performance


Engines:
Experience the unprecedented thrill of a 390-hp 5.0 liter V8 or the exhilarating 303-hp 3.5 liter V6.  The V8 offers Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) control to help the engine breathe freely for instant acceleration and enhanced efficiency.  And both combine duel intake and exhaust for a sound that is uniquely Infiniti.

7-Speed Automatic Transmission:
More gears means you always have the optimum selection for quick and responsive acceleration while the high 7th gear allows lower-rpm cruising for greater fuel efficiency.  Shift through all seven smoothly and seamlessly in automatic mode, or switch into manual mode with Downshift Rev Matching and use the available solid magnesium paddle shifters to take direct control.

Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD):
Infiniti's Intelligent All-Wheel Drive (AWD) provides power where and when you need it, instantly adapting to changing conditions.  By constantly monitoring wheelspin, throttle position and vehicle speed, this system automatically diverts up to 50% of the available power to the front wheels, enhancing traction and control in adverse conditions.  When all-wheel drive is not needed, the system sends 100% of the power to the rear wheels for more responsive road performance.

Handling:
Genuine performance is built on a solid foundation like the Sports car-inspired platform of the FX.  With the engine's weight toward the center and the wheels pushed to the corners, it's balanced for better handling.  Available Continuous Damping Control (CDC) will automatically tighten or soften the suspension when you're cornering or cruising, or you can manually set sport mode.  And available Rear Active Steer will actively turn the rear wheels for sharper turn-in.
 
Purposeful Design:
From wide stance to declarative details, flowing hood to sculpted taillights, the FX is crafted for balance, aerodynamics and expression.  The standard 18-inch wheels are coupled with low-profile performance tires for superior grip and steering response.  And the standard side air vents put function above mere fashion, reducing front-end lift by up to 5%.


Interior


Atmosphere:
Every surface, every sight, is a reward.  The cockpit is designed to create a sense of personal space while the available quilted leather-appointed seating and Maple interior accents invite your senses.  And available sport seats, complete with thigh support extension and side bolsters, let you tailor the fit for comfort and driving support.

      

Advanced Climate Control System:
Infiniti's innovative Advanced Climate Control System (ACCS) not only helps keep the air in your cabin clean, it actively cleans it.  The system automatically shuts outside air vents when exhaust fumes are detected, while its Grape Polyphenol Filter removes 99.5% of airborne allergens from the cabin and its Plasmacluster air purifier uses charged ions to help reduce or neutralize airborne germs.

Versatility:
Up to 62.0 cubic feet of space that always configures, never confines.  Adaptive seating optimizes your cargo capabilities with quick-folding 60/40-split rear seats that individually fold flat - a job made easy with remote releases in the cargo area.  It's low for easy loading, and both wide and long to accommodate larger objects.  Never has something this bold made this much sense.


Technology


Around View Monitor with Front and Rear Sonar System:
The Around View Monitor uses four exterior cameras, one on every side, to give you a virtual 360-degree view of your surroundings, with enhanced 180-degree rearward view.  This bird's-eye perspective is displayed on your in-dash monitor to help you see all around your Infiniti.  If you get too close to an object, you'll see a warning on the screen and an audible tone will also sound, giving you greater confidence when parking.

                 

Distance Control Technology:
Infiniti has transformed the way you interact with traffic with distance control technologies that help you move with the flow.  When activated, Intelligent Cruise Control (Full Speed Range) provides the benefits of cruise control with the options of adding speed and distance intervals.  In slowing traffic, Intelligent Cruise Control (Full Speed Range) provides the added advantage of slowing your vehicle as traffic slows, helping you maintain distance--then, as traffic flow picks up, accelerates to your pre-set speed and distance.  Industry - first Distance Control Assist intuitively helps the driver release the throttle and applies the brakes as needed in the slowing traffic.

Hard Drive Navigation System:
The next-generation touch-screen Infiniti Hard Drive Navigation System features Infiniti Voice Recognition and XM NavTraffic which includes Real-Time Traffic information.  The high-resolution screen supports Birdview perspective control and enhanced 3-D building graphics.  Together, these features enhance your journey and help you navigate while Lane Guidance indicates the correct lane to be in when approaching an interchange or exit.  You can also access Real-Time Weather updates and 3-day forecasts using XM NavWeather and browse the Zagat Survey Restaurant Guide with ratings and reviews.

Bose Premium Audio System:
Listen to your music with captivating depth and precision.  Sound is channeled through 11 speakers, including two subwoofers for the fullest experience.  With better sound enjoy greater selection: play CDs, and stream music from compatible Bluetooth device or XM Satellite Radio, or connect and control your iPod via the USB port.

Dual DVD Head Restraint Monitors:
Infiniti has found a way to please everyone with the available rear entertainment system.  Rear passengers can enjoy a movie or video game on color monitors conveniently mounted on the back of the headrests.  The system also comes with two wireless headphones and a remote control for greater convenience.


Safety


Intelligent Brake Assist with Forward Collision Warning:
Using the system's laser range finder, Forward Collision Warning (FCW) helps alert the driver of a potential collision by providing a visual and audible warning.  If the driver doesn't respond, and a collision cannot be avoided, Intelligent Brake Assist (IBA) automatically engages the brakes to help reduce collision speed and impact, helping to mitigate the consequences of the accident.

Enhanced Control:
Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) helps correct oversteer or understeer by applying brake pressure to individual wheels and adjusting the engines power output.  The Traction Control System (TCS) helps enhance rear-wheel grip when accelerating by sensing wheelspin and automatically reducing engine output and/or braking the spinning wheel.

Impact Protection:
Infiniti Advanced Air Bag System (AABS) provides dual-stage front supplemental air bags when sensors that adjust inflation rates depending on crash severity and seat belt usage.  Front seat-mounted side-impact supplemental air bags help provide additional protection for front occupants.  Roof-mounted curtain supplemental air bags deploy from the headliner above the windows, helping to give outboard occupants enhanced head protection.  Front-seat Active Head Restraints help reduce whiplash-type injuries, seat belt pretensioners work to help protect occupants in the event of certain types of collision, and Zone Body construction helps maintain the integrity of the passenger compartment.  All are ways in which Infiniti technology helps to provide a more comfortable and safer driving experience.

Lane Departure Prevention:
Lane Departure Prevention (LDP) helps keep your vehicle from unintentionally drifting from your lane.  The available system utilizes a camera to monitor the distance between the vehicle and lane markings.  If the vehicle drifts unintentionally towards the lane markers, the system first sounds an audible warning, then lightly applies selected brakes to help you ease your vehicle back into its lane.
